THE TRANSPORTER

When Pam and I were living in Nashville, TN we had lots of early morning flights. I remember driving to the airport in the rain with dark heavy clouds hanging overhead. Once seated on the plane we'd watch the water pour down over the windows as lights from the runway blinked through the darkness.  The jets would roar, the plane would take off and then came the suddenly. Often there would be a shaking as we broke through the clouds and suddenly it was sunshine everywhere. The dark clouds that once hung above us were turned to fluffy white clouds below us. All possible because we got in a modern transporter and submitted to the journey.     

You may be going through a very difficult time right now.  Not to oversimplify but your spiritual vehicle is critical.  When you're in the boat you're excited to look over the edge at the huge sharks in the water. When you're in the water with the man-eating sharks, you have a completely different perspective on the same setting.  What you are in, OR not in means everything to your outcome. 

God has given you and I transporters of different types so that we can be above the clouds, protected, blessed and go places.  For example Psalm 100:4 says, "Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise!"  There are good things inside of God's spiritual gates and thanksgiving is the vehicle of choice to get you there.  There are ridiculous blessings inside of God's courts and the transporter of praise is the way to go.  That's why I praise and make a habit of it.  Not because it's a fun, religious exercise or that it feels right.  I praise God so I can be transported into His courts where there are blessings, ideas, advantages, and too many other good things to list.  

Have you ever felt unsafe and like you needed protection?  "The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous run into it, and is safe." (Proverbs 18:10)  What about getting a promotion, a better job, or an opportunity that you know you can't deserve in yourself?  Favor is the transporter of choice!  Psalm 5:12 paints a beautiful picture, "For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield."  God's favor is this invisible shield that attracts everything good and repels everything evil.  

The ultimate transporter that you and I have access to is the anointing of God.  When we are in Christ we are new creatures, old things are passed away, and all things become new!  (2 Corinthians 5:17)  Acts 17:28 goes so far as to convince of this amazing transporter thinking by saying, "In Him we live and move and have our being."      

On the other side of this issue let me say this, trying to live the life of a child of God and neglecting these spiritual vehicles is a frustrating, exhausting and discouraging life.  Imagine God calling you to Phoenix, AZ for lunch and you've got six hours to get there.  If you are 2,000 miles away and unwilling to get in a plane, you're going to miss it.  That's futile living (John 15:5).  Quit missing out!  Get in the transporter, relax and let the Holy Spirit captain you to places you could never go by yourself.

Father God I come to You in the Name of Jesus and know that instantly I'm in Your presence.  Wow!  What a privilege!  I give you thanks and offer up praise to You.  I declare that Your favor now surrounds me like a shield.  Through Christ I am more than a conqueror and gain surpassing victory!  (According to Romans 8:37)
