Faith & The Future

Most want today to be as good as it possibly can be.  Now with regard to the future, many are apprehensive.  Theres a prevailing fear of the unknown, and for a lot of people, a sense that they have no control or say in what will be.  Gods Word gives us a very different belief, though. The Bible clearly connects faith with the future.

Jesus was speaking to a Roman centurion, a man of great military authority, about his servant boy needing a miracle healing.  When the soldier said he didnt need Jesus to come to his house but only speak a word of authority, Jesus marveled at the mans faith.  Then in Matthew 8:13 He said, Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed.  Basically, Jesus just told all of us that the future is decided by our faith.

The future is a correlate of faith, or the absence of it.  Thats a painful truth when you live in a present that seems to be full of hard consequences. Some react to this by either becoming very defensive or bowing to condemnation.  The Lord doesnt condemn us when were wrong, but He does call us to repent, change our way of thinking, and grab hold of His wisdom.  So you realize you havent been activating faith, and you dont like the results. Great!  Instead of mourning the outcome, celebrate the newfound wisdom.  Everyone is wrong at times in life.  The question is: How fast can we turn, repent, let go, and be in faith?

King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 11:1, Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days.  Its a nod to the principle of sowing and reaping, but its also about connecting your giving with your future.  Faith without action is dead, the book of James tells us.  The future needs your faith.  The earth longs for the sons and daughters of God to activate faith because its the force of life that directs the future.  Many people wonder why bad things happen if God is so good.  The assumption here is that God lied when He said in Genesis, Let us give mankind dominion and authority over the earth.  The future desperately needs your faith.  Every day you neglect to activate it, the future is like a moving vehicle not being steered.  You can imagine that will never go well.

God has promised to help us, but He requires our faith to steer the future.  God will do it for us, but not without faith. So what does your faith look like?  What bread are you casting on the water?  Faith is an unstoppable force when activated and it always has proof.  Show me your faith.  Show me the title deed or evidence of what is unseen.  God does the work, but your faith is your choice. You have a say in what will be, so activate your faith now and decide the future with Gods help.  He said in Deuteronomy 30, Ive set before you life and death, you choose.  Activated faith activates the future.  You choose.
